Prevent Athlete’s Foot, Ringworm and Jock Itch

Monday, March 5th, 2012

Although getting Athlete’s Foot, Ringworm or Jock Itch can happen if you take all the preventative measures possible. But by taking these preventative measures your chances of getting one of these fungal infections are much, much slimer than if you are not. We found some great prevention tips that we wanted to share with you.

Prevention measures in the home – The fungi that cause athlete’s foot live on moist surfaces and can be transmitted from an infected person to members of the same household through secondary contact.  By controlling the fungus growth in the household, transmission of the infection can be prevented.

Bathroom hygiene – Spray tub and bathroom floor with disinfectant after each use to help prevent reinfection and infection of other household members.
Frequent laundering – Wash sheets, towels, socks, underwear, and bedclothes in hot water (at 60 °C / 140 °F) to kill the fungus.
- Change towels and bed sheets at least once per week.
- Avoid sharing
- Avoid sharing of towels, shoes and socks between household members.
- Use a separate towel for drying infected skin areas.
Prevention measures in public places – Wear shower shoes or sandals in locker rooms, public showers, and public baths.
- Wash feet, particularly between the toes, with soap and dry thoroughly after bathing or showering.
- If you have experienced an infection previously, you may want to treat your feet and shoes with over-the-counter drugs.

Personal prevention measures – Dry feet well after showering, paying particular attention to the web space between the toes.
- Try to limit the amount that your feet sweat by wearing open-toed shoes or well-ventilated shoes, such as lightweight mesh running shoes.
- Wear lightweight cotton socks to help reduce sweat. These must be washed in hot water and/or bleached to avoid reinfection. New light weight, moisture wicking polyester socks, especially those with anti-microbial properties, may be a better choice.
- Use foot powder to help reduce moisture and friction. Some foot powders also include an anti-fungal ingredient.
- Keep shoes dry by wearing a different pair each day.
- Change socks and shoes after exercise.
- Replace sole inserts in shoes/sneakers on a frequent basis.
- Replace old sneakers and exercise shoes.
- After any physical activity shower with a soap that has both an antibacterial and anti-fungal agent in it.”

Everything to Know About Scabies

Dealing with Scabies

ScabiesIf you have noticed tiny, elevated, red bumps on your skin that itch like crazy, you are probably dealing with a skin problem that is caused by mites. Most people know this problem as the “itch”. These are the things you need to know about scabies.

The bites of mites normally appear as small red pimples on the skin. The itching is most common at night. When the person begins to scratch, the tiny mite begins to burrow farther along just under the surface of the skin. The itching is actually caused by an allergic reaction to the feces of the mite on the skin.

Impetigo or cellulitis are often a result of the scratching most people cannot resist doing. Impetigo is when one of the tiny red spots are scratched until it becomes infected. The person can infect other spots on his body by scratching the infected place, and then touching another part of the body. Cellulitis causes swelling, fever and redness.

When a person has never had scabies before, the scabies symptoms usually show up four to six weeks after he becomes infested. People who have had it before will present scabies symptoms within two to four days. Some people may actually have scabies for several years before they are aware of it.

When someone in the family has scabies, every necessary precaution must be taken in order to prevent the mites from spreading to other members of the household. Scabies is contagious. Scabies Mites can be spread by scratching and having them under the fingernails. They can also get on furniture, clothing, toilets and towels or anything else the infected person touches.

It does not take a large number of scabies mites to cause intense itching. The female mites are more likely to burrow under the skin than the males. The males will burrow on occasion, but they are most likely to run around on top of the skin.

Sulphur is a common scabies remedy to get rid of mites. Bar soap is made with sulphur. Be sure to find one that has a minimum of 6% sulphur. Doctors recommend that the person wash the entire body at least once a day with this soap. Do not use a towel to dry off with. Instead, dry the body with a hair dryer on low speed.

Ivermectin is a liquid remedy that can be taken internally. The first dose will eliminate all of the live mites. A second dose two weeks later will kill the newly hatched ones. Ivermectin may cause symptoms such as pain, myalgia, vomiting or nausea. They will go away once the treatment is finished.

Availability of Anti-Scabies Lotions

There are also anti-scabies lotions that are available. They have been proven to be very effective if they are used correctly. They can only be applied from the neck down to the bottom of the feet. Once the lotion is put on, it needs to stay on the skin for 24 hours before being washed off with soap and hot water.

Mites must be removed from the clothing of the infected person. Turn each piece wrong side out and wash with hot water and soap. Dry the clothing in a hot dryer or hang it outside in the direct sunshine. Once it is dry, iron each piece of clothing on both sides in order to eliminate any living mites.

Scabies is not a serious skin problem, but it is a very uncomfortable one. Because of the ease with which mites can be spread, it is very difficult to totally eliminate. In order to protect the other members of the family, consult with your doctor as soon as you suspect that you may have come in contact with mites.

Some Information About Poison Ivy

Thursday, March 1st, 2012

One of the most popular, and most common, allergic reactions in the world is a condition known as poison ivy. Although some people are immune to it’s poison ivy symptoms, most people experience an allergic reaction when coming into contact with poison ivy. These reactions can be relatively mild or very severe. It might be worth your time to look at some basic information on poison ivy.

Poison ivy is one member of a large group of plants known as Sumachs. These poisonous poison ivy plants are popular for the common allergic reaction it produces in those who have come into physical contact with it. Inside this plant is a clear liquid called urushiol. This liquid is the culprit responsible for the troublesome reactions that most people experience.

The poison ivy plant is widely distributed throughout North America, Europe, and Asia. It typically grows in three distinct forms. It can take the form of a trailing vine, a small bush, or a climbing vine that grows up trees or other types of vertical objects. There are many plants that appear similar to this one, often making it hard to effectively identify the poison ivy plant.

Many people will experience the poison ivy symptoms of this allergic reaction, especially if they spend time outdoors. Some people are actually immune to the plant and suffer no reactions at all. Most people, however, are allergic to it. The reaction will begin with red, inflamed skin that will become itchy. Soon, blisters form, which are sometimes very severe and can burst. Often, a fever will develop as well. Other, less common and more severe reactions can occur in the form of dizziness, difficulty breathing and severe swelling.

Poison ivy allergies are some of the most common in the entire world. It is extremely difficult to identify poison ivy, and very easy to catch. The only definite way of preventing it is to avoid the plant. If you plan on being outdoors, become familiar with pictures of it in hopes that you can spot it and avoid it. If you think you may have been exposed, remove all relevant clothing and wash in hot water. Also, take a shower and wash the body well. Consider wearing long pants and shirts if you can.

Treatment for this issue can usually be done in the home. For dryness and itching, apply a wet compress or soak the affected area in cool water. There are also various antihistamine pills and lotions that can bring relief. Also important is to try and avoid scratching the blisters as much as possible.

Poison ivy is an extremely common problem over much of the globe. This is especially true for anyone who spends considerable amounts of time near wooded areas. Luckily, this ailment is very easily treated and can generally be done in the comfort of the home, provided there are no severe allergic reactions.

We have some nice poison ivy remedies. Are you looking for a cure for poison ivy? We understand how complicated it can be and we are here to help you out.

How To Determine If You Need Surgery For Excessive Sweating

Sunday, February 26th, 2012

Life can be really unbearable when you have to deal with excessive sweating. Everyone sweats at least a little, but sometimes it can become so bad that it starts to negatively impact our life. There are many ways to treat excessive sweating but some of these treatments won’t work for some people and they will have to take extreme measures. One way to deal with this problem is to have a dysport treatment this is similar to a botox treatment and is credited with providing good results for people who are dealing with excessive sweating.

Getting disport treatment means that you will have a small amount of disport injected into the skin. This treatment is commonly used for removing wrinkles from people’s faces but it can also be injected into the hands and feet to reduce excessive sweating. The treatment only takes about fifteen minutes and the effects can last for quite a long time afterwards. It is also a fairly painless procedure that doesn’t come with many risks.

Whether or not you think that surgery would be a good option for you is something that you should take some time deciding. If this problem is negatively impacting your life though then it does make sense to do something about it. Sometimes no matter how many other options you try, you will find that you have no choice but to go for surgery. The best advice would be to have a chat with your doctor and see if they can advise anything else; there are special prescription only antiperspirants that might work for you. See what your doctor thinks about surgery, but if they can’t think of any other options then surgery would seem to be the most sensible option.

If you’re trying to get Botox treatment from one of the best skin specialists in great britain then, Dr Michael Sheill is the main specialist you have to visit. When the most technically innovative and most revolutionary of strategies are a priority on your list, Michael Sheill and his many clinics around the country are worth serious thought.

New Skin Parasite Breakthrough

Saturday, February 25th, 2012

If you suffer from skin parasites, unexplained fibers, and ugly dermal tunneling scars beneath your flesh you know the agony and alienation of chronic parasite infestation. We applaud your courage and want to help you end this tragic personal violation immediately. No one deserves to live in the endless cycle of organic assault by an aggressive parasitic colony.

What if you could kill the parasites living in your flesh and shut down their breeding cycle with a few simple steps? Would you do it? Would you do it today? Of course you would. Well we’re here to tell you, that day has come.

Expert Research Continues to provide good working treatments for many ailments, but unfortunately because of the powerful mutability of parasitic skin mites, most conventional healthcare researchers will not touch skin parasites with a ten-foot-pole. In fact, most doctors won’t even acknowledge that Morgellon Syndrome is a real affliction!

This kind of backward thinking is devastating to the masses of real people living with this real problem. Luckily, things are changing. Your time has come!

Backed by years of constant research into Morgellons Syndrome, Q-Based Healthcare has been involved in active development of new methods to treat this searing emotional nightmare. Not content to sit on past accomplishments, they have gone beyond their own highly effective product line to introduce a bold new treatment based on their recently released Liceadex® Lice Treatment System.

Developed in Q-Based labs to address the rapidly growing problem of chemical-resistant strains of ‘Super Lice’, Liceadex® Lice Shampoo is changing lives all over the world as well as breaking records in customer satisfaction for a Lice Treatment Solution.

But the most exciting development came when our R&D Team Leader decided to test the product on other human parasites. In every case, the results blasted our expectations out of the water! This gentle, non-toxic, pleasant smelling shampoo crippled and killed every single insect-based lifeform we tested it on.

THE REAL TEST

Then the real test came. She decided to see if it could give relief to the tens of thousands of Morgellons Sufferers and Skin Parasite Hosts we have helped over the years. A series of blind tests were done and product was released to a controlled number of known chronic parasite sufferers. The reason you are reading this now is because those tests resulted in an AMAZING 96% success rate.

Unexpected Results = Tears of Joy

Those results were awesome enough and I can’t begin to tell you how excited we were. What we did not expect was the overwhelming outpouring of heart wrenching, emotionally-charged gratitude that came from our test subjects — some of whom have been fighting Morgellons and tenacious Scabies colonies for years!

You can and will escape skin parasites.

We won’t give up and we won’t let you give up. Reach into that inner space where your own personal power resides and you’ll know that what I’m telling you is from the heart. Your life is a wreck because of these vicious little invaders. We don’t have to tell you about the bottomless pit of despair you look into every day you live with Morgellons.

But this message is about hope.

Looking for Poison Ivy Treatments

poison ivy plantI myself have never went through the experience of suffering from a poison ivy rash, which is surprising being a native of the southern part of Louisiana where poison ivy grows nearly everywhere one glances. But with that said, many of my friends and family have experienced the effects of poison ivy to the point of being absolutely miserable. Every summer Q-based Healthcare’s sales in Poison Ivy, Oak and Sumac Healing Gel sky rocket.

One of our customer service representatives was telling me about a phone call she had with one of customers just the other day. She was talking to a lady who lived in the southern part of the states as well. Her and her entire family broke out with a severe Poison Ivy rash.

Suffering from Poison Ivy Rash

None of them were surprised as they are an extremely outdoorsy, active family. But when they all came down with poison ivy, including their 5-year-old and their 3-year-old, the painful, oozing rashes covering their bodies put a damper on their active nature, to say the least. With two small children and two adults all suffering from poison ivy rashes their household was anything but peaceful. After two trips to the doctor for cortisone shots and cortisone cream they were still suffering a week later with the oozing sores on their arms, legs and torsos.

That’s about the time when she decided to go online and do some research. She came across our Poison Ivy, Oak and Sumac Healing Gel and decided to give it a try. She called in and that’s where Shellie, a customer service representative here, came in.

“It has been a week and a half and it just won’t go away. It seems like the more we try to do the worse it gets,” she stated in a frantic tone.

Shellie felt for the customer as she experienced Poison Ivy herself. Well, being the concerned rep that she is gave this same customer a follow-up call the next week. And she was not surprised to hear the relief in the woman’s voice.

“This gel has been a real god-send for my family. Shellie, now all we have left are a few scabs. The rash is almost completely gone,” she concluded.

I told Shellie after she shared the story with me, “You know, I’ve never had Poison Ivy, but if I ever do…I’m sure glad I already know what to use and what works.”

I think I can speak for Shellie and say that she feels the same way.

Variety of Scabies Remedies

lindane lotion - scabies lotion - scabies symptomsScabies infections have been a problem for centuries. However, they are still one of the most irritating infections to get. Finding the right scabies over the counter remedy can sometimes be a case of trial and error.

Scabies are caused by ectoparasites. In laymen terms, they are microscopic mites that burrow down under your skin. You can have them for weeks without showing symptoms. The major symptoms of scabies is an intense itch with a rash or small bumps. Some mistakenly think they are suffering from a rash or hives. The itching is actually caused by the feces of the mites.

Home Made Scabies Remedy

Occasionally the mites and eggs, or nits, can be seen with the naked eye. Typically, though, even your medical provider will have a hard time seeing them even with a close examination. Anyone you come in contact with has the chance of being infested. Treatment needs to commence as soon as you know you are suffering with scabies.

Some possible treatments are permethrin cream or piperonyl butoxide. Lindane in shampoos or lotions can be used, but many people avoid this because it takes a while to work and can cause some negative side effects. These treatments have all been proven toxic and are linked to illnesses such as cancer.

Using natural scabies treatments are the preference of some.  Most treatments will need to be repeated in about 7-10 days.

Scabies can easily be transferred to someone else, so the entire family needs to be involved in treatment. Certain hygiene procedures should be followed. Towels, bedding, and all clothing should be washed in hot water with some bleach. Any combs or hairbrushes should also be cleaned by soaking in hot bleach water. Try to avoid other people, especially for the first few days. Schools, hospitals, and other areas with a large group of people should be avoided to prevent a major outbreak.

The itching associated with scabies can be extremely irritating. Scratching can lead to serious infections, that will need a prescribed antibiotic. Going to a doctor may be a good choice, but finding the right scabies over the counter remedy is possible for some.
